I was surprised that net price prices actually went up in the past several weeks. I thought it was just because of the higher prices of gasoline due to the recent spike in prices.
Actually, the rise is mostly due to the fact that the more expensive options were more difficult to find. Most of the time I think that’s not really the case, but I also know that some people are using the very expensive plans that are still available. With that said, there are two reasons that net prices are going up. First, there’s a lot of new competition that’s coming from cheaper options.
I think this is mostly due to the fact that the more expensive plans are harder to find. Because there are fewer providers, and they are more likely to have better customer service.
My friend thinks the problem isn’t with the competition. He’s seen an increase in the number of providers that offer packages like the $30/mo. plans that are in the $9.99 range. Second, more and more people are choosing to go with a plan that is less than $10 a month. Like the more basic $10/mo. plan. So he thinks the problem is with the cost of the plan itself.
Actually, I think the problem is with the fact that providers don’t have the resources to provide better customer service. The big providers like Verizon and AT&T have a lot of money and can afford to hire more people to do customer service. But because they are so big they are not able to hire people who specialize in internet customer service.
My friend, Scott, spent over $100 on a plan that included internet and TV but was barely using any of them. When we discussed this with him he said the big providers are probably doing the same. I think this is the most common perception among consumers that they are paying more for cheaper internet packages, when the problem is they are paying more for better customer service. I’ve seen the same problem occur with cable television packages.
There is a simple solution to this problem. The average internet package has a ton of channels, but is still far from being the same as a cable package. While the vast majority of people don’t care if their internet package includes channels like CNN, HBO, and Disney Channel, people do care if their internet service is fast and reliable. The problem is that the average internet experience will be just as slow and unreliable as a cable package.
In the meantime, if you want to get the cheapest internet for your internet package, the answer is “price is relative.” If you want faster internet, for example, then you should be willing to pay for faster service. When you compare the price of a 100 Mbps package to the price of a 50 Mbps one, you will notice that the 100 Mbps package is still far cheaper than the 50 Mbps one.
A quick look at pai online pricing shows that it is indeed cheaper than the standard 50 Mbps package. However, if you’re in an area with high internet congestion or a DSL provider that offers only 100 Mbps packages, then you will have to choose between 100 Mbps and a slower internet connection. While the same is true for cable packages, if you’re in a rural area, or in a city with no DSL, then you will have to pay for the slower internet connection.
If you have a 100 Mbps connection, then you can get much better internet speeds through your DSL provider. If you have a slower connection, then it will work out cheaper to get a 100 Mbps connection since you will only be paying for what you use.
