The worst thing about internet outages is that you actually don’t know you’re a victim until it’s too late. You might have just spent an hour or two online, but you’re still a victim, and it’s very possible you’ll never see a response from the company you called or their customer service rep. You might just be spending a lot of time on the phone for hours, wondering what happened to your order.
A lot of people are affected by this, and that is why outages are so bad. The other possible problem is that the main broadband provider is down, or at least that the call centers at the ISP are down.
